New England: Social, Political, and Economic Perspectives
Proposal Deadline: Monday, March 15, 2010
Development and change are major social forces affecting all institutions and social life in New England. This conference provides a forum for scholars of New England life—sociologists, community activists, interdisciplinary thinkers, and students—to contribute their ideas and develop lively discussions and establish networks for collaborative studies. The format of the conference will include panels, paper presentation, workshops, and student poster presentations. Suggested areas of focus are:
- Urban and rural planning and development
- Economic and demographic changes
- Crime and law enforcement
- Religious diversity
- Educational needs
- Changes in marital laws and family structure
- Political power shifts
Please submit proposals by March 15 with full title and a 100 word abstract via e-mail to the conference organizer Mel Manson at mmanson@endicott.edu and/or Bruce Day at dayb@mail.ccsu.edu
