The New England Sociological Association (NESA) is pleased to announce
the Spring 2010 Conference
“New England: Social, Political and Economic Perspectives”
will be held at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts
on Saturday April 17, 2010 from 9AM - 4PM.

2010 Sociologist of the Year awarded to Jennifer Dobruck Lowe
Jennifer has focused her career engaging in anti-poverty work through multiple approaches. Since February 2008, she has served as the Associate Director of Research and Innovation at Crittenton Women’s Union (CWU), a pioneering nonprofit organization that combines direct service programs, research and advocacy to transforms the course of low-income women’s lives so they can attain economic independence and create better futures for themselves and their families. Prior to joining CWU, Jennifer served as the Associate Director of the Boston based civil rights organization, Organization for a New Equality. She has years of experience teaching, program management, evaluation and serving as an advocate for families experiencing homelessness. Jennifer is completing her PhD in Sociology at Northeastern University, specializing in urban sociology and social inequality with a particular interest in social networks. For the past seven years, Jennifer has served in a variety of roles on the Executive Council of the New England Sociological Association (NESA). In these positions, Jennifer has demonstrated outstanding service to the broader community of sociologists by organizing conferences, facilitating communication with association members, and coordinating several executive council functions.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Avoid the on-site registration fee of $5 by registering early! To register for the 2010 Spring Conference, please complete and mail (or email) the 2010 Spring Conference Registration Form form to dayb@ccsu.edu. Conference fees can be paid in check if mailing your registration OR via cash, check or money order on site on the day of the conference.
Registration tables will open at 8:30AM the day of the conference - be sure to stop by to pick up your name tag, conference agenda and make any payments or late registrations.
